Fertilizers: We use Bio-sol mix fertilizer. Bio-sol promotes the humus formation and soil fertility due to %70 organic substance.  Biosol activates the soil life and regenerates the soil with a lasting effect.  Higher humus values, better rooting, and vitalization are specific of this organic fertilizer (To read more about biosol and it's benefits click here or visit biosol.com).

Weed Control: The best defense against weeds is a healthy lawn.  Thick and vigorous turn won't allow much room for weeds, but persistent weeds are removed with weed poppers on a weekly or monthly basis. In early spring we use corn-gluten meal for weed control but it must be applied by April 15th for the best affect.

Insect Control: Our first words of advice are don't overreact! There are natural controls, biological and physical that wipe out every turf pest..  A common problem is trying to grow the wrong type of grass in the wrong place.  Overseeding with new hybrid grasses that are unpalatable is another alternative.

Mulch Mowing: There are many reasons why we only mulch mow. Leaving the clippings on the lawn not only protects the roots from the hot summer sun, but it also holds the moisture in.  Your lawn uses less water, plus the nitrogen from the grass is slow steady feeding, breaking down the soil and increasing microorganisms and organic matter.  With an organic program, excessive dead thatch will not build up as a result of mowing.

Aeration: Colorado is known for it's dry clay type soil; consequently lawns often suffer from soil compaction.  This is especially the case for chemically treated lawns.  Soil life is at a standstill, and the soil-aeration activity of earthworms and microorganisms has slowed.  Like any plant, grass suffers in compacted soil, aerating gives it a fresh start by removing soil cores, forming passageways for air, water, nutrients and space for roots to grow.

Thatch Breakdown: Almost every lawn service offers POWER RAKING, this process beats the dead grass out of your lawn with metal tines, robbing the soil of organic matter and often times damaging the root system.  We use a mixture of humeric acids (100% organic) to break down thatch into nutrients that enhance your soil.  This method keeps the organic matter in your soil and lets microorganisms flourish.

Overseeding:  We talked about this in the paragraph about insect control.  Another reason to overseed is if your lawn is more than 10 years old, making it handicapped by old-fashioned grass.  Old grass doesn't germinate as quickly causing a thin, weak, weed and disease prone lawn.  New breeds are tougher, more vigorous, better looking, drought tolerant as well ad disease and insect resistant. Not to mention, it can be more cost effective to overseed a lawn and rejuvenate it rather than replacing it.
